House Advantage takes wish granting very seriously. By supporting Make-A-Wish Southern Nevada in a variety of ways, Make-A-Wish Southern Nevada granted over 100 wishes during 2015 for children battling life-threatening medical conditions.
For the 5th year in a row, House Advantage sponsored our annual Walk For Wishes event and created a team that joined us at The Walk as we made wishes come true, one step at a time.
This year, House Advantage also sponsored a local wish for 16-year-old Joseph. Joseph’s life changed when diagnosed with Hodgkin’s disease, a cancer of the lymphatic system, which is part of the immune system. During this difficult time, he wanted to stay connected to the things he loves – technology! Joseph’s wish to have a computer was a perfect fit for his love of technology and photography.
When he arrived at House Advantage headquarters in style with a private SUV, his wish began to unfold. The rest of his visit with the House Advantage team was more than Joseph ever could expect. To top it off, CEO Jon Wolfe offered Joseph a paid internship for the following summer where he can begin to put his skills to professional use.
Joseph’s wish gave him strength and joy during a difficult time. His wish also provided him with hope for his future. He now has the tools and resources he needs to develop his skills and to pursue his education and a career in the areas he cares so deeply about.
Computers were a theme for 2015. In addition to sponsoring Walk for Wishes and Joseph’s computer wish, House Advantage donated ten computers to Make-A-Wish Southern Nevada to allow for a more productive work environment. This upgrade in technology has allowed our staff to work effectively and efficiently so the Make-A-Wish team can make more wishes come true.
Make-A-Wish Southern Nevada recognizes Jon Wolfe and the House Advantage team for their unwavering support and the impact it has on the special children we serve. Because of companies like House Advantage, Make-A-Wish is able to deliver healing, uplifting and inspirational wishes.
